The Spelling Bee ~

 

My daughter has decided to try her hand at theater ~

 

She got one of the lead roles in a play ~

 

We weren't expecting her to get a lead role, seeing as how she's never been in a play before. But she did, and she's having a blast.  It's a LOT of work, but it will be worth it.

 

The directors have been very generous in working with Laci. They are teachers at the UNC School of the Arts. The play is a musical comedy, and she will have two solos - and some dancing.

 

The scene is a handful of quirky boys and girls in a high school gymnasium gunning for first prize in the spelling bee. Laci's character is the youngest of the spellers, and her first time to the bee. Oh, and funny, her daddy is in the play with her - as, well, her daddy! Long story -

 

That's one thing I love about my daughter - she is not afraid to try anything. She thinks everything is fun, and intends to make the most of it.

 

The play's in March, and I'm looking forward to sitting in the audience and enjoying the show.
