We've been on the Gulf Coast this past week and will not return until after the first of the year. We left snow for a little warmer Christmas this year, but still cold! I couldn't let the New Year ring in without writing down some of our great adventures this year.
My little 4-year-old, Caleb, has learned to tie his shoes this year, and has learned three different versions of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on the violin. Still very much an inquisitive little guy, surely to ask you a thousand and one questions about everything. We've seen lots of cousins this week, and enjoyed visiting family. Uncle Reggie was taking stitches from his son's chin the other day (it's okay, he does have a medical background), and of course Caleb was all up in the middle of that. He had a thousand questions, and asked Uncle Reggie, "Is he going to die?" It's exciting watching your children grow and take on their own personalities, isn't it?
Laci is presently recovering from bronchitis this week. But she's doing fine now. This is the first year Laci (now 6) has experienced a sleep-over (now several of them), and had her first sleepover herself with two really great friends (better known as the Three Musketeers of their Sunday school class). She loves her friends, her cousins, her family. She's lost two bottom teeth this year and has a loose tooth on top.
They are growing up so fast! It will be exciting to see what 2010 brings us. But for now, we're just enjoying visiting family, doing lots of traveling, and lots of eating (unfortunately). But part of the adventure in traveling home for the holidays is you get to eat all the wonderful food you left behind when you moved away from the South; seafood, cajun food, home cooked food. I'll tell you all about our travels when we return (our kids heads are spinning).
We're spending our New Year's Eve at Mr. and Mrs. Broom's church in Pascagoula. Their Sunday School class always has a Christmas/New Year's party every year. This year Greg and Laci is going to provide the entertainment by playing and singing for them. It will be their first official gig. In the meantime, I hope all of my friends have a wonderful New Year, and best wishes to all of you.
