Me and My Family

  • Me and the hub, we have 2 crazy kids, 2 even crazier dogs, and an adopted cat we call boo! (Cats really don't answer to their names anyway, right?) We love traveling together, music of all genres, the theater, and hanging with friends. We're on this journey called "life" together, and all I can say is "You'd better put your seatbelt on!" We learn together, laugh together, cry together, and, yes, even eat sushi together. We live one wild ride, and albeit crazy, we're doing it together!

The BIG menu!

Is your turkey day menu looking anything like mine?

Lots of butter ~

Lots of sugar ~

Lots of cheese ~

This past week and a half has been crazy. We've already shared three Thanksgiving meals with wonderful friends, and one more to go!

We usually spend Thanksgiving with some of our family members, but it just did not work out this year. But nonetheless we are having a Thanksgiving dinner -- with a few friends. Nothing elaborate, but of course the main course does include a turkey. We always include a few family favorites, incorporating a little Gulf Coast in there somewhere. Deep fried turkey, oyster dressing and gravy, squash and shrimp casserole, green beans, my mom's famous cranberry salad, homemade mac and cheese for the kiddos, and rolls. I never make homemade mac and cheese except special occasions!! But my kids love it. What kid don't? And Thanksgiving just would not be complete without a couple of desserts. Pecan pie with ice cream, strawberry pretzel salad, pumpkin cheese-swirled pie, and pumpkin bars. I shall start tomorrow. NO SCHOOL!! Not like we've gotten much done this week anyway.

What's your Thanksgiving table looking like this year?

I sure hope you have a good one!

Thanks so much for including JJ and Drake at your Thanksgiving table this year. Your family is a blessing to us. Two of my boys can enjoy the woods while the rest of us commune with the Lord at the beach.

Your menu sounds very tasty. Ours will be less elaborate but delicious nonetheless.

Thanks again!
