Me and My Family

  • Me and the hub, we have 2 crazy kids, 2 even crazier dogs, and an adopted cat we call boo! (Cats really don't answer to their names anyway, right?) We love traveling together, music of all genres, the theater, and hanging with friends. We're on this journey called "life" together, and all I can say is "You'd better put your seatbelt on!" We learn together, laugh together, cry together, and, yes, even eat sushi together. We live one wild ride, and albeit crazy, we're doing it together!

WOW Snow!

Do you know what I like about living in North Carolina? We get just enough snow to HAVE FUN!!! We like to see it come, and we like to see it go! The melting part is not very pretty, but the coming down part is beautiful. The kids were so excited the other night when it started to snow that we almost never got them to bed! They sat in their rooms staring out the window. We love to turn on the floodlights and watch it come down. At our house we accumulated around 5 inches. Just enough to make a snowman, snow angels, snow cars, and of course snow cream!!
How do you like our very first snowman?

It's not an easy task making a snowman out of mostly powered snow. But I have to give all the credit to Laci and her dad for this guy! How do you like his cashmere scarf? Geez, Frosty dresses better than me!

Then of course any snow would not be complete without a little snow cream. If you've never tasted this lovely treat, I'll tell you, it is every bit as good as homemade ice cream with half the calories and fat!!! So save a little snow in your freezer for days gone by.

Simple recipe for snow cream:

1 large bowl of fresh, clean snow

1/2 cup of sugar
2 cups of milk, cream or half and half
1 tsp. of vanilla
Mixing to the consistency of your liking!

Of course, if your bowl looks anything like Greg's, you'll need to adjust your recipe accordingly.

Laci and Caleb's funnest part of the day? Getting buried in the snow!
