This past week we spent a little time with our French cousin Rebecca from Quebec City. She loves basketball, and is really good at it, so she came to a Christian basketball camp at Elon University. We had the opportunity to go and watch her play the last day of camp, and to see what all they worked on all week.
Just a little recap ...
Rebecca took home an award for "Best all round defense player" and made the All Star team ~
It's no wonder, during their scrimmage game she scored all the points for their team. She's such a sweet girl, and we love her, so that means we get to brag on her!!!
The kids were all mezmorized during the show ...
And everyone had a great time!
Rebecca was able to spend her last night in NC with us. They loved playing outside, and actually found a little friend.
They named him "Hoppy Toad." (How original) After it got dark and it started to rain they brought him into the living room and played with him for hours on end. He was a nervous wreck by the time they let him go.
We carried Rebecca and Aunt Rhonda to the airport the next day, and Laci cried all the way home (for 45 minutes). She misses Rebecca already. And I had to hear that story again, you know, the one about why are we the only ones in the world that do not live by our cousins, grandparents, and aunts and uncles??? what does one say? After all, all of her friends do. That's just the way it is, I tell her. We're hoping to go and see them next year. But for now we have our pictures to remember by ...

Looks like you have a great visit! What sweet memories for them to have as they grow.
You can tell Laci that Isaac only lives near his Granny because she moved here :-) Until last year, we had no family in NC either!
What a great time. I couldn't help but giggle about Hoppy Frog.. he was probably a 'happy' frog when they let him go at the end of the day.
What a wonderful time with family. I'm sure that both Laci and Rebecca can't wait to see each other again.
