I just love Laci's fiddle teacher, Mike Hartgrove. He has the patience of Job, bless his heart! Not only is he a great teacher but he's also a member of one of the most loved bands in Bluegrass today, The Lonesome River Band. Their band has been nominated for a multitude of awards this year for their new album. Mike's been in this business for 35 years and everyone in bluegrass and country knows him. He's played The Opry with the likes of Alison Krause, Vince Gill and many others.
November 11, The Lonesome River Band will be guests on The Late Show with the very hilarious comedian, Steve Martin, who is also a fabulously talented banjo player. He plays with an awesome band called Steep Canyon Rangers. These guys are originally from one of my favorite mountain towns, Brevard.
So mark your calendars for November 11 and catch The Lonesome River Band playing with the ever so funny Steve Martin, who may just surprise you how serious he can be on the banjo.
